Self-Care Prompts

Welcome to this ongoing exploration of Health Activism, where I share tools to support reconnection with the self, body, and heart. This project integrates insights from Clinical Dance Therapy and Butoh Dance, offering small, guided prompts that take just a few minutes a day to restore a sense of an integrated self.

In academic spaces—often structured by productivity rather than care—these embodied practices provide moments of grounding and renewal. Whether walking, sitting, or reflecting, these creative and guided prompts are small but impactful steps toward fostering care for ourselves and those around us.

ncorporating embodied practices like these into academic spaces is a radical act of care. By carving out moments for reconnection and creativity, we resist the neglect of well-being in institutional settings. Small shifts toward self-care can ripple out, fostering a culture where care is valued and shared.

Take a moment to listen, rest, move, and reconnect.

Audio Prompt n.1: Grounds

This audio-guided prompt invites you to feel grounded, rooted, and expansive. As you listen, follow the conduction to explore a sense of connection to the earth beneath you and the vast space around you. It’s a gentle practice to bring you back to center.

Audio Prompt n.2: Walking My Relations

Through the act of simple walking, this prompt encourages awareness of your movement. Notice how your feet meet the ground, how your body follows, and what emerges in the process. Play with variations in rhythm, direction, and pace. Observe and reflect—walking becomes a practice of coming into relation with your surroundings, rhythm, and self.

Audio Prompt n.3: Shaping New Forms

This creative prompt, accompanied by an audio track, invites you to embody transformation. Imagine your body as a piece of clay—malleable and full of potential. Explore small movements and allow your body to reshape and reform. In this practice, reflect on life’s challenges and our innate capacity to remodulate from within.
